- La collection lancée par les BAR International remonte au désir de faire place aux publications concernant le secteur de l'histoire militaire, un secteur très spécialisé dans le panorama des études d'archéologie et d'histoire de l'architecture. Dans le but d'offrir au plus grand nombre d'auteurs la possibilité de publier leurs ouvrages, on n'a donné aucune limite spatio-temporelle aux sujets traités. - The series, promoted by BAR International, originates from the desire to open a new, autonomous ground for specialized publications concerning archaeological and historical studies, in particular relating to the wider field of military studies. No boundaries are set, concerning time and space, since the aim is to offer the most scholars the possibility to publish their works relating to the topic of the series. - Diese Serie von Bar International entsteht infolge des Wunsches einen selbständigen Platz zu schaffen, der für die Ausgaben eines fachmännischen Gebietes von der archäologischen und architektonisch-geschichtlichen Untersuchungen bestimmt ist. Von jetzt an, setzt man keine chronologischen oder räumlichen Grenzen; auf diese Weise hat ein größer Teil der Gelehrten die Gelegenheit die Untersuchung über den Gegenstand dieser Bücherreihe zu veröffentlichen.
